Whether working from home or office, hunger pangs get the better of us and most times make us resort to unhealthy binging or eating patterns. While you may like your cookies & biscuits, they do not satiate your hunger and aren’t enough to keep you full for longer hours.

‘Roasted Makhana’ or ‘Fox nuts’ also popularly known as ‘Lotus seeds’ or ‘Phool Makhana’ are especially a favorite in the fasting season. This low-calorie snack is light on your stomach, but also super-filling. Enriched with the goodness of protein, potassium, phosphorus, fiber, magnesium, iron & zinc, Makhanas are low in cholesterol, fat, sodium as well as in the glycemic index. Other than anti-aging enzymes, the presence of a natural flavonoid called kaempferol helps prevent inflammation. Makhanas, therefore, make for an ideal snack to binge on while on a weight loss diet, or when you’re just trying to eat healthily. So let’s dig into the recipe!
